Long update: Rise of the Guardians

So, it’s been a while since my last update. Which is a single post from June, well, don’t blame me for not updating my blog, and blame college with their freakishly overloaded assignment thrown on my face. Because of that my time is so very much tight. Not to mention, I got one subject final project needed to be done and it has to do with Flash Animation. I have to do a Flash Animation and now since this Week is already Week 10 of the 2nd semester, I’m already struggling I’m praying to God that I can cope and get over with this subject. Since I got only 4 weeks of this semester left. LET IT BE OVER ALREADY! I can’t take it anymore! Amazingly, I’m still surviving this.
Enough about me and college right now, trust me it’s one thing I would want to avoid and not talk about it. So what should I talk about? What have I been doing lately? (Besides college =.=)
I watched Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Hunter, Madagascar 3 and Brave on my birthday last month, which is on 29th June by the way, with my dear friend Devia. It was seriously worth watching 3 movies in a single day. One is, I mananged to watch the movie I wanted to watch for a while, and two, the movie is so nice and awesome watching.
And then, just recently, this movie got my attention.
It’s another animated movie from the magical studio Dreamworks. This animated movie titled ‘Rise of the Guardians’ (not to be confused with Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Gahoole, trust me, I got confused with that movie as well) is out of the ordinary from those typical mystical characters that children grow up with. Confused? Take the typical Santa Claus, joy and happy ‘ho-ho-ho’ character but with some badass Russian accent and tattoos on both his arms, also adding some traits of badassness along with it. And the Easter Bunny with a Australian accent, and ToothFairy which is half human and half humming bird not just a typical ‘fairy’, huh? And also adding the small, silent Sandman joining forces to defeat the dark, evil Boogeyman.
Not just a typical children’s story right now eh? That’s what I thought as well, but not only the story plot that captures my attention. Once again, Dreamworks Studio which brought the ever so blockbuster hit Shrek, Madagascar, Kung fu Panda, Kung Fu Panda and the unexpected hit How To Train Your Dragon, it’s so obviously, that Dreamworks has found their way to top off in the animation industry plan, I mean as far as I know Dreamworks has evolved a lot since Kung Fu Panda. What you can expect from this movie, of course, it’s the graphics and also the small pieces of particles used in the movie is ever so amazing that looked almost real in the eye.
And then, the 2nd movie trailer of this movie came out, introducing another additional character in the movie, Jack Frost.
So what do you know about Jack Frost from the stories you heard as a kid? Personally, I don’t know much about Jack Frost, but I kinda read and saw that this Christmas character that’s been used almost since forever, is widely known for playing tricks and up to mischief by bringing snow to people often freezing them. From what I heard, Jack Frost isn’t from the bad guy category, he’s just a naughty person.
But in this movie, Jack Frost takes a form of a young teenager, (according from what I read his 14 years old) and EVERY GIRLS are already swooning over his boyish looks already, it’s not helping the fact that Chris Pine is voicing Jack as well. Well, I’ll admit I was swooning over him as well. From the 2nd trailer of Rise of the Guardians, you’ll see the typical mischief Jack Frost, also sarcastic as well, as you noticed that. LOL. Something tells me there’s going to be a backstory on Jack Frost character.
But I can’t help but wonder why Jack Frost isn’t introduced in the first trailer, I mean there should be a reason right? The movie wad announced and the characters were introduced in 2009, which I didn’t come across at all. Anticipated fans of the movie were not happy at all when Jack Frost was not in the 1st trailer. But now the 2nd trailer is out, fans can rejoice!
It seems that Jack Frost is the main protagonist of the movie, a.k.a the main character of the main character in the movie. I mean Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and Sandman are also the main character as well.
Now I’m even more pumped up to watch this animated movie (also from the creator’s who did How To Train Your Dragon, expect some movie magic and some epic awesomeness in this movie.
The movie is coming out on November 22nd from the official site I found…. still a long way to go but hey, time flies quickly then you know it right?
